Jokanyanam Development Association (JONDA) is a non-profit organization registered in the state of Tennessee (USA). JONDA is a tax-exempt organization registered under the 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC). JONDA is a welfare, non-governmental, nonprofit, and nonaffiliated organization.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to socially and economically impact the lives of the underprivileged members of society, particularly children in Kenya.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

2022 -2024 – Fully sponsored following students: currently candidates for KSCE 2025

  • Shavic Ooko- Agoro Sare High School,  Oyugis, Kenya

2019– JONDA collaborated with a local sorority to ship and disburse female sanitary products to Primary and Secondary school girls in the Kisumu county area. Our partner on the ground was CISS – a charity organization based in Kisumu.

2018-JONDA provided full academic scholarship to the following students for the next 4 years.  Edgar Omondi (Kanga High), Ashley Tende (Mbaga Sec.) Please see details about our beneficiaries here.

2017-JONDA provided full academic scholarship to the following students for the next 4 years.   Keith Ojwang (Oriwo Boys High). Please see details about our beneficiaries here.

2015: JONDA collected lightly used shoes from friends and sponsors and shipped over 150 pairs of shoes to Mama Ngina Children’s home in Kisumu.

2014: JONDA fully sponsored Sylvia Akinyi, an underprivileged student at St. Aloys Reru Girls Secondary School and Kombewa, Kenya.  We have committed to covering all her educational needs for all four years in school.

2012: JONDA provided chairs and tables to Hongo Radhiang Primary School. Hongo Radhiang Primary School is located in Kano, Kisumu District, with a population of 229 students (112 girls and 117 boys).

2012: JONDA provided athletic uniforms and sports equipment to Masara Primary School soccer and netball teams. Masara Primary School is located in Suna West subdivision of the Migori District with a population of 604 students (288 girls and 316 boys).

2011: JONDA provided educational materials and supplies, including but not limited to books, pencils, erasers, and mathematical sets, among others. Obugi Primary School is a community-sponsored school in Nyakach, Kenya, with a student population of 425 (196 girls and 229 boys)

2009-2010: JONDA provided food and beddings, including maize flour, beans, oil, blankets, and mattresses, among other things. Mama Ngina Children’s Home is located in Kisumu city, Nyanza province. The home hosts 50 children of various ages, ranging from newborn to 18 years old, due to family abandonment caused by poverty and political upheavals (such as the 2007 post-election violence). The home provides shelter, clothing, and food to the needy children.
